SEC Declines to Sue Moody’s Over Inflated Ratings

Moody’s Corp. chose not to downgrade inflated ratings on almost $1 billion of debt in 2007 out of concern for the company’s reputation, according to U.S. regulators who said they weren’t sure they had authority to sue.
